Phulkari is an embroidery technique from the Punjab region of the Indian subcontinent. It literally means flower work, and became the standard embroidery technique used by Sikhs to handcraft shawls and head scarfs. This booklet is an essay on the art of the phulkaris of Punjab, and their cultural context.
